The JACL Cultural Center — right here on the San Pedro corridor — hosts a free public book talk and signing with historian Dr. Andrew B. Russell, author of Like Friends, Like Foes: Japanese Americans and Nevada Through World War II (University of Nevada Press, 2026).

Dr. Russell will present a 30-minute illustrated talk comparing the wartime experiences of Japanese Americans in Nevada and New Mexico, followed by a Q&A and in-person book signing. The event marks the launch of his national book tour.

Hardcover copies are available for purchase at $39.95. For every book sold to a current or new JACL member that day, Dr. Russell will donate $10 to the JACL Cultural Center.
