IN MOTION ON SAN PEDRO
How to walk, roll, and ride your way through the San Pedro Main Street corridor — and where we're headed next.
EXISTING CONDITIONS
WHAT’S HERE NOW
The San Pedro Main Street corridor runs along San Pedro Drive NE between I-40 and Central Avenue/Historic Route 66. Here's an honest picture of the current infrastructure for people moving through the corridor on foot or by bike.
SIDEWALKS
Sidewalks exist on both sides of San Pedro Drive along most of the corridor, but width, condition, and continuity vary significantly. There are two pedestrian refuges to cross the street safely.
ABQ RIDE SERVICE
Four ABQ Ride routes serve the corridor. On Central, you can catch the 66, 766, and 777; and on Lomas, you can catch the 11 to connect to the broader ABQ Ride netowork.
BIKE INFRASTRUCTURE
Painted bike lanes are present on portions of San Pedro north of Lomas.
STREET TREES & SHADE
Tree canopy and shade coverage along the sidewalk is limited. Heat and sun exposure make summer walking less comfortable.
SIGNALIZED CROSSING
Signalized intersections occur at major cross streets. Pedestrian signals and curb cuts vary in availability and accessibility.
STREET LIGHTING
Lighting conditions vary. RSPP has coordinated with the City on lighting improvements as part of broader safety and accessibility work.
A NOTE ON CONDITIONS:
This page reflects what currently exists, not what we think is good enough. Active projects are underway to address gaps in safety, accessibility, and comfort for people walking and biking the corridor.
